Walking Again After Knee Surgery | 7 Week Update

Walking for the first time since my Tibial Plateau injury, 7 weeks after surgery. I had knee surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto on January 16th 2022. I took my first steps on February 26th 2021 (using a cane) and unaided, cane-free steps on February 28th. I am told my recovery has been really quick, which is excellent news. Luckily I was in good health and good shape before I broke my knee and I rested a lot during my recovery, meaning I had the best chance at healing. I can now finally get a little independence back by walking on my own! I can also now walk up and downstairs, which is major progress. I should be 90% recovered by April and making a near-full recovery by May! Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/missrebeccaj/ #kneesurgery #learningtowalk #injuryrecovery

I can now bend my knee to 90 degrees, which was the aim between my last appointment and now. I also update you on coping with a broken bone day-to-day handling the mental health issues that come with recovery, and how I practice self-care. #kneeinjury #tibialplateaufracture #recovery
My Surgery Story & Scar Reveal - Broken Knee

My Surgery Story & Scar Reveal - Broken Knee

Broken knee surgery story and scar reveal. Following on from last week's in hospital video, I tell you what went down with the surgery to fix my tibial plateau fracture. The fracture is a rare type of broken knee and required intense surgery to fix it. Originally, I thought I was going to have one pin in my leg and some bone grafting, so imagine my surprise when I saw the X-ray of my leg for the first time! I have a plate and 8 screws! The surgery went well but unfortunately, the pain management afterward did not. I was in excruciating pain for around 36 hours which was ...yeah, HORRIBLE. I am now recovering at home and my scar is beginning to heal. I am still unable to walk for a few weeks and have to use a walking frame. Why I Moved To Canada (& Why I Am Never Coming Back)

Why I Moved To Canada ... UPDATE VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09lS2atcExc I moved to Canada from England in 2015. I just celebrated five years living in Canada and I want to tell you why I was inspired to move and why I want to stay for the foreseeable future. If you want to see more of my life in Canada (especially living in Toronto) then follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/missrebeccaj/ These reasons are personal to me; you may not agree or have the same experience, but I wanted to tell you how I see things from my perspective. Moving to Canada on a Working Holiday Visa was quite easy but settling in Canada as a Permanent Resident was quite a bit harder. I don't go in to loads of detail on those two processes, but if you want to know then leave me a comment and I will try to answer as best I can. Elora, Ontario: Canada's "Most Beautiful" town.

Elora, Ontario: Canada's "Most Beautiful" town.

We took a road trip to Elora, Canada's "Most Beautiful" Town. The Ontario town/ village is very cute, filled with pastel houses, arts and craft stores and gorgeous views of wildlife. The Elora Brewing Company and Elora Distillery were great spots to visit to. Elora is a cute and historic town on its own, but the Gorge conservation area makes it stunning! The first European settlers arrived in Elora in 1817 and by the 1850s Elora was a major agricultural marketplace. A lot of people take trips from Toronto to Elora as they attracted by the Gorge and historic architecture.
