This week has very much been a mix of really exciting and a touch dull. Weird. This is because Will and I are still trying to have fun but know we need to focus on getting jobs so are largely spending the days applying for jobs. Ahh!
Sunday funday and you cannot stop that! No!
Abiding by a time honoured Sunday tradition, Will and I went for brunch. Not only did we go for brunch, we went for a brunch at a cool and famous location in the city that serves $4 Caesars. Hi breakfast alcohol, hi breakfast eggs.
It was a beautiful day, so Will and I took a stroll by Lake Ontario before heading to catch London Road at the last night of the Toronto International Film Festival.
I very much enjoyed London Road! I think Rufus Norris and The National did a great job adapting it for screen.
So Monday was cool as I went to a season press launch at the Royal Alexandra Theatre and ended up interviewing the leads of the U.S. Phantom tour amongst others.
After that, I spent the afternoon getting my video edit on!
Tuesday was a glorious day both in terms of the weather and the fun scale. We were planning on meeting Harriet once she finished work to go to the Blue Jays baseball game. A few hours before we met her we headed to the Steamwhistle Brewery, basked in the sunshine and soaked up the free samples of beer before buying a couple of cans.
The ball game was fun; the Jays were playing the New York Yankees and we very much felt like we were in a film!
Will and I had a bit of a hectic but non picture worthy day of signing our house tenancy! We are really excited to be moving into our nice new place in November but between now and then we’re staying in a lovely temporary place with a garden and chickens.
Later we walked through a beauty of a nearby park and I snapped this picture thinking it still almost looks like summer out here, though apparently it is “fall.”
More hecticness and bag moving! I’ll spare you the boring details. After that was done, Will and I did more job applications and I prepared for my trip to New York the next day!
Sooo Dunkin Donuts kept me alive on a 12 HOUR bus ride to NYC. I have taken that bus before but overnight rather than in the day. Overnight is waaaay better but for $25 each way, who can complain?
Eventually I got there and spied this hun shining in its classic way. Hey Empire State!
Whilst I am staying with Michaela in NY, she was working Saturday day. Luckily my friend Rukaya was also in town on Saturday so we went met for brunch!
I’m so naughty. I have to admit I got wayyyyy too drunk at brunch. One of the things I love about NYC is their penchant for bottomless brunch. Unfortunately I embraced this with open arms on Saturday and had five drinks….then saw a Broadway show on my own. Cool story.
I had just about sobered up by the time I met Michaela after she finished work. We then topped up my drastically dropping booze levels with a drink on a rooftop bar. Ideal!
Make sure you catch the blog next week, if only just to find out how much coffee I drank at the New York Coffee festival on Sunday.
Michaela and I are off to see the Statue of Liberty now! BYE! x
